K, GLEN may start to wonder who this "Gord" is that you are referring to...wine
Too funny...as long as I don't start calling him by another man's name - can you imagine? No worries, know your mind is on a million plus things. teddy bear

One of our own here, KDH (Kim) is currently and unexpectedly faced with an extreme health crisis in her immediate family. Kim's family is very close. I am not going into details, out of respect, but Kim's very active and loving Mom has been slammed with something very serious. I am asking each and every one of you to send your best positive thoughts, your prayers, what ever it is you can do to Kim's Mother, her Father and all of the family and friend who are going to be walking and fighting this battle with Mrs. H. This too is a challenge that as a new couple Kim and Brian will be meeting - let's pray for them to find and keep the courage and fortitude to get through this strong and together. angel
You are in our thoughts Kim and prayers - everyday - to your Mom and Dad - to you all. Look after yourself, you are no good to anyone if you do not. And remember the Serenity Prayer - I pray you will have the serenity, wisdom and courage that will help get you through this. teddy bear

Loner1960: Of course I look around to see what is going on. If I didn't, I would get run over.

rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing Good Answer Loner!!!

Yes, it's serves us well as humans to look around and see what is going on doesn't it....thumbs up Yet, perhaps there are times in life, that to protect our soul, it would be easier to live by the whole "ignorance is bliss" thing? innocent

kidatheart: A perculator still makes the best coffee. My dad still uses his old stainless steel one every day and has never had a coffee maker. He takes his coffee pretty seriously and takes a thermos full wherever he goes.
I bought an Oster coffee maker 3 years ago and it still works great, although it wasn't cheap. I don't see any point in buying junk though, same goes for tools.

My parents received a toaster as a wedding gift, and it lasted for 30 years before the Bakelite (plastic) finally got so brittle that it fell apart. Why can't I find one of those old chrome dinosaurs somewhere?
The one I have now either barely warms the bread, or turns it into charcoal. What's the point in having any adjustments if they don't work? It does have some nice LED's on it though, looks cool.

professor Sears Catalog Kid, awesome selection of Retro chrome toasters - can hardly go wrong with the Cuisinart line - love my Griddler! But beware...the force may suck you it.
Talking about your mom and dad's toaster reminds me of the one my grandparents were using not so long ago - one of those chrome flip ones - slice on each side...with a cloth cord no less laugh Did a fabulous job though.
Confession: My waffle Iron is one my Grandpa bought in the mid 40's. I still use it, although the handle is broken and it is very heavy and gets sooooo hot. It has the cloth cord as well. I just continue to use it because I can make the best waffles with it...do what ya gotta do wave

applause Yayyy...it is only -23 here today; that means that when I stop somewhere for over an hour I don't have to keep starting the car or leave it running, nor do I have to drive very far before the temp raises! What a difference 7 degrees makes! It will make it just a bit easier for everyone...AND the sun in shining - gotta wear shades cool

eyesthatknowwhy: It does sound simple, but often, according to Murphy's :aw, the simplest things in life are often the most difficult. But...perhaps you have revealed a bit of a "man secret"? You want your own "tool girl" <<grunt, grunt ala Tim the tool man Taylor>>

I have these new Gel nails and typing has become a challenge to say the least...wine

Drewski: I have a comment.

I need a purse for my tools. And, need them to match the color of each tool. I also need a cute girl who matches my purse with the tools in it.

It's so simple.

Brew01: and you know it would fit, how ????

(or am I giving aways secrets ? )

rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing professor Well, it is a complicated equation that is compiled by various imputs, simple, statistics and the direct relation of your "stretching of the truth" etc...one may deduce that sticking out tongue Perhaps dear sir, you are giving secrets away. Any I am sure hoping that you are not offended - because....apparently...<<whatever>> wave Have a great day Brew. I am getting squirt ready for her last Christmas concert this morning...little girls leotards *%#!?!. MERRY CHRISTMAS!! angel

kidatheart: Yeah, some tools are like that, cordless drills especially, but in all fairness, new batteries for the old ones are almost as much money as replacing the drill itself with a new one. I bought myself a pair of 18 volt lithium ion Makita drills a year ago. Adding a cordless reciprocating saw soon, as well as a spare battery.
Not sure what I'm going to do with the box of old drills, there must be 7 or 8 of them in there, along with a pile of dead batteries and chargers. Why can't anyone build a decent toaster? The only good one I've ever had the pleasure of using was a Hobart commercial unit, and I can't afford to buy one. Getting tired of euthanising the cheap ones.

conversing Complete "I hear you" about the toasters. Love the ones in restaurants - put the bread in one side of the belt, out she shoots as toast at the other - pricey and big! I go through toasters fairly quickly too, expensive/cheap/2 and 4 slice...no matter dunno When I smoked, I probably burnt out many of them lighting smokes laugh I am still looking for a coffee pot that can stand the test of time - seriously thinking of bringing out the aluminum perk from the camping dishes...

Not getting a new purse, will use the nice black one I bought in the summer - decided to spend the money on getting my nails done cheering angel

mychelle: Not unless he likes these particular jokes which makes it looks likes someone actually care more about him than they are letting on.

confused Sorry, you are incorrect...just friendly banter and joking between friends/acquaintances...Like KDH explained, it is all in jest and response to a commonality through out several threads and posts. Please read back, some very funny stuff.laugh Oh, and he is now looking for something to throw at K in response, believe you me - and he will find it...wont' ya Brew dancing banana
